mango custard

August 5, 2015 By tummycharger Leave a Comment

Hey friends, it’s time to post about a very easy and quick made fruity dessert. Guess the main fruit which I am gonna use? Well of course, none other but mango. And the dessert is my very own favorite mango custard.

This is total crazy summer-monsoon mixed season here. And sadly mangoes won’t be available for long. So, these days I am eating mango daily so that I will regret less when they will disappear from the market. Do you know that mango is the king of fruits here in India and there will be very rare people who do not like mango.

I like custard as dessert after some light dinner or lunch. I like the flavor of custard. And when that flavor gets mixed with the aroma of mangoes mmmm that gets heavenly. And yes I have added some red hot beautiful fresh cherries to the dish to give it the ultimate look. Well for me this dish is extra delicious and lusciously smooth. I choose mangoes which are ripe but not overly ripe and they have to be extremely sweet. Nowadays you can get frozen canned mangoes in the grocery shops but trust me frozen mangoes can not replace the authenticity and the taste of fresh mangoes.

I prefer chilled custard. So mostly I make it at night time and I keep it in my refrigerator over night. And in breakfast time I eat. People like to add different types of nuts and dry fruits in custard. But when I make a fruity custard,I don’t add them. Because I feel that they kinda harm the tooty-fruity taste of it. I have added cherries here to make it look more beautiful but you can avoid it if you just prefer mango in mango custard. You can add saffron too if you love the smell and look of it.

So as always, I have cooked it last night. I already had bought my mangoes, custard powder, fresh milk and cherries in the evening. I was tired to cook after coming back from market but I did as I was wanting to eat it badly 😀 I just cut the mangoes and got some fresh juicy pulps.I boiled the milk with sugar and added custard powder and made custard with it. While making the custard at later stage I added the fresh mango pulps. When it got ready I poured it into a big bowl and topped it with cherries. Today I have ate it with my mum and younger sister after taking some pictures of it to upload here 🙂
